Why does a thermometer kept in boiling water show no change of temperature even the water is continuously heated?

A liquid boils at a particular temperature called the boiling point of the liquid. Once the liquid starts boiling the thermometer reading remains constant because there is no further increase in temperature .The quantity of heat supplied is being utilized as latent heat in converting the liquid at boiling point into vapor at the same temperature. That is why a thermometer kept in boiling water shows no change of temperature even when the water is continuously heated.

Gautham Menon’s Silambarasan-Trisha starrer Vinnai Thaandi Varuvaayaa began at short notice giving a huge surprise to all of us and is now progressing at a brisk pace. It has got all the makings of a quickie. News from the sets of the movie, which is set partially in the USA, is that Trisha will appear as a close friend of the sister of Silambarasan’s character.Sources also say that Silambarasan is getting Silambarasan involved in the filming process of the movie, being more than just an actor on the sets. He is believed to be actually assisting Gautham in the making of the film. With his experience of having directed a movie at a very young age, Silambarasan is very well qualified for the role and one is sure that this experience will add much more sheen to his undoubted talent.

Meanwhile, there are also reports stating that Silambarasan might also be called upon by Academy Award Winner A.R. Rahman to lend his voice for a number or two in the movie. Looks like Vinnai Thaandi Varuvaayaa is going to be a big one for Silambarasan.
